The Economic Policy Institute reports a projected shortfall of around 200,000 public school teachers by the 2025-26 school year without significant intervention. Add to that the fact that 340,000 fewer students enrolled in teacher preparation programs in 2018 than in 2010.

Community Voice
The mission of the NSHA Coalition is to identify, disseminate, and support implementation of strategies to remedy personnel shortages of service providers of children and youth with disabilities, and persistent vacancies in those areas at the state and local levels for the benefit of all children and youth throughout Nevada.
The Coalition provides local and state stakeholders who are addressing personnel shortages in special education and related services the opportunity to seek and access assistance in identifying problems, finding solutions, maximizing resources, and addressing issues affected by shortages.

The NSHA Coalition hosts quarterly ( Oct, January, April and August 1)
Stakeholders meetings are open for all members and to the public. The meetings are a forum for stakeholders to share concerns, discuss challenges encountered regarding the recruitment and retention of special education related service personnel, and potential; regulatory changes may impact our stakeholders. The meetings are also an opportunity to share the wealth of resources and free professional learning opportunities. Through pour on-going collaborative efforts wot a variety pf state and local entities, it is our goal we create a community of learners, streamlining our efforts and encouraging communication to actively recruit and retain special education related service personnel in Nevada.
Stakeholders are provided the NSHA Coalition quarterly Dashboard that highlights the activities that align with each project goal.
Stakeholders are encouraged to bring discussion items and share the information with others.
